Chelsea + Nick. A match-made in heaven. These two neighbors turned lovers, and will now forever share the same last name. I cannot tell you how much my heart LOVED everything about this wedding day. It was a day truly centered on Chelsea & Nick, the vows they’d make to one another, and honoring their family and friends who would celebrate with them. The wedding was held on Chelsea’s parents breathtaking land in Fredericksburg, TX. The couple and their families did everything themselves, and they did the most beautiful job creating such a magical space for Chelsea+Nick to say “I do”, and for family and friends to eat and dance underneath the Texas stars. Chelsea’s grandmother made all of the flower arrangements, Chelsea made all of the signs (she’s got quite the talent!), and Chelsea + Nick’s golden retriever, “Berkleigh,” was the flower girl :). I think what I loved and adored most about capturing this day was how much human connection there was between everyone in attendance. The hugs, tears, laughter, and JOY to be together, and celebrate Mr. & Mrs. Adams was so touching and beautiful. It touched my heart and I loved telling the story of this magical day through photographs.
Chelsea & Nick’s song is “Turning Page” by Sleeping at Last, and I just loved the lyrics. I felt it very fitting and true for their story and love.
"Your love is my turning page
Where only the sweetest words remain
Every kiss is a cursive line
Every touch is a redefining phrase
I surrender who I've been for who you are
For nothing makes me stronger than your fragile heart
If I had only felt how it feels to be yours
Well I would have known
What I've been living for all along
I asked Chelsea as she was getting ready, “What do you love about Nick?” She responded (With something along the lines of) “He’s so kind. In past relationships, when a guy said he’d be there for me, or wanted me to need him It made me want to run away. With Nick, I feel so confident and safe and I believe him.” I felt like that statement is exactly what the words in their first dance song are saying. How beautiful and precious is that? I just love it.
Lastly, the moment where I UGLY CRIED behind my camera… Chelsea and her mom danced to “Slipping through my Fingers” by ABBA. Chelsea’s mom sang it to her, and there was not a dry eye.
“Slipping through my fingers all the time
I try to capture every minute
The feeling in it
Slipping through my fingers all the time
Do I really see what's in her mind
Each time I think I'm close to knowing
She keeps on growing
Slipping through my fingers all the time”
So there you have it. I loved this day & I adore Chelsea+Nick. Thank you guys again for having me out to capture this day. It was truly a treat!! Congratulations, Friends!!
